Historical development: The old name of Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases was Ocular fundus diseases. It was founded in September, 1985, and 41 volumes have been publicized up to now. Before its name was changed into the present one, it had been supervised by the Ministry of Health and organized by West China Hospital of Sichuan University. In February of 1993, it was transferred into Chinese Medical Association and became the one of the journals of Chinese Medical Association. After its changing of name, it has been supervised by China Association for Science and Technology and organized by Chinese Medical Association, authorizing West China Hospital of Sichuan University continuing undertaking. The first editor-in-chief was Professor Luo Chengren, and the first director of editorial office was Wei Chunyi. Present editor-in-chief is Xu Xun, and director of editorial office is Lu Fang.
Objectives of publication: The journal staff takes quick dissemination of information of correlational studies of eyesight and intraocular nervous vascular tissue diseases and general diseases and exchange of ideas of ocular fundus diseases studies and clinical practice, as their own missions. The journal is centering on readers to promote the development of ocular fundus studies and academic communication at home and abroad.
Readers: medical schools, senior or intermediate ophthalmologists and researching staffs from scientific studies institute, medical workers of all levels, who pay attention to ocular fundus diseases.
Main columns: expert’s review, original articles, brief reports, case reports, picture reports, literature review and so on.
