Young doctors invited to attend the Japanese Society of Medical Oncology Annual Meeting for Academic Exchange
From March 4 to 8, a team of young doctors from WCH’s Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery was invited to Kobe, Japan, to participate in the 22nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Medical Oncology (JSMO) and engage in multiple academic exchanges.

JSMO is a large international conference organized by the Japanese Society of Medical Oncology / Japanese Society of Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine. It aims to support the exploration, research, and dissemination of international information related to cancer treatment, promote the advancement of oncology medical technologies, and develop cancer treatment guidelines. This year’s meeting brought together over 6,000 representatives from around the world.
During the Head and Neck-Oral Session, Researcher Ren Jianjun, Postdoctoral Fellows Qiu Ke and Cheng Danni, Doctoral Candidates Feng Lan and Zhang Ziyan delivered presentations on the epidemiology and immunotherapy research of HPV-related head and neck tumors.
At the Poster Session, Postdoctoral Fellows Rao Yufang and Song Yao, along with Doctor Mao Minzi, presented their research on the clinical staging and immune microenvironment analysis of head and neck tumors, engaging in in-depth discussions with international scholars.
Furthermore, Doctoral Candidate Zhang Ziyan received the Young Investigator Award, presented by the Japanese Society of Medical Oncology / Japanese Society of Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine, in recognition of her outstanding presentation.
