Inauguration of Jinjiang Campus of West China Hospital

On the morning of February 19, the Jinjiang Campus of West China Hospital was fully launched, officially initiating the "one hospital, three campuses" operational model, which includes the Main Campus, Wenjiang Campus, and Jinjiang Campus. The event was presided over by Party Secretary Cheng Yongzhong.

 

In his speech, President Luo Fengming extended a warm welcome to all the leaders and guests. He stated that the Jinjiang Campus, as the first direct campus of our hospital with over a thousand beds, is not only an important practice to position itself as a national medical center, closely integrate with the Healthy China strategy, and actively respond to the high-quality development of public hospitals, but also a key focus for Sichuan University to promote the overall advancement of West China Medicine into world-class standards. Moreover, it is a crucial support for the balanced distribution of national high-quality medical resources.

 

Vice President Wu Hong led the medical staff representatives in a solemn oath. Professor Zhou Dong, the director of the Department of Neurology, spoke on behalf of the medical staff.

 

The attending leaders and guests also conducted a visit to the Jinjiang Campus to gain a detailed understanding of its operations.

The first phase of the Jinjiang Campus, which was fully launched this time, has a construction area of 179,000 square meters. It started construction in July 2021, was officially completed in September 2024, and began trial operations on February 5, 2025. It is an important part of the new development pattern of "one hospital, multiple campuses" of West China Hospital of Sichuan University and the first direct campus of West China Hospital with over 1,000 beds. It is expected to serve more than one million outpatient patients annually, 50,000 to 60,000 inpatients, and perform 20,000 to 30,000 surgeries.
